Our client is a global consulting leader helping clients around the world advance the health, wealth and careers of their most vital asset - their people.

Taken en verantwoordelijkheden

Providing advice to the businesses in the Netherlands on legal issues, legal developments, local regulations (in particular in relation to insurance broking and pensions matters), policy setting and questions;

Drafting contractual and other legal documentation, including, reviewing and negotiating local and global agreements (many of the local agreements will be in local languages);

Selecting, appointing and managing outside counsel from approved law firms;

Implementing of all compliance policies i.e. Anti-money laundering, Peer Review, Data Protection etc.;

Assisting on the handling of Errors & Omissions in the region;

Organizing and overseeing Board and Risk Committee meetings and ensuring compliance with good corporate governance practices and local law and regulation; and

Supporting the Functions (Finance and HR) on legal issues.

Maintaining up-to-date legal knowledge to ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations and legislation and provide legal advice and ensure that self and team maintain leading edge expertise;

Effectively prioritizing work by understanding competing priorities and make appropriate judgments regarding relative importance and delegate where necessary;

Effectively managing large complex and multiple projects, or where a project participant effectively contribute to project and monitor overall direction of project. These projects may be internal to the Department or relate to the Business;

Carefully judging the need for and timing of major business decisions, evaluating risks versus benefits of different options whilst keeping a focus on the long term goals of the business;

Escalating key issues for decision or information using appropriate judgment as to when to do so

Taking the initiative; identify issues that go beyond the specific project/activity requested by the internal client;

Managing expectations well; communicate regularly with internal business colleagues regarding projected time frame for project completion, use a variety of strategies and techniques to influence and persuade others;

Facilitating a team culture that reinforces organizational rather than individual or business specific goals, offers to help colleagues and share work;

Being able to clearly articulate and educate business colleagues on key legal issues and developments;

Knowing the company, its organizational and management structure, its markets and its businesses and keep abreast of global goals. Maintain an internal and external network across relevant markets, lines of business and functions; and

Anticipating emerging issues based on knowledge of business goals.
